Does Bend Tooling do any tube-bending?

No.  Although some of our competitors have tube-bending operations, we don't.  That would put us in competition with our customers.  It would also distract us from what we do best:  Making mandrels, wipers, and bending dies.

Is Bend Tooling Section 8(a) qualified?

Yes.  Bend Tooling's plant is located in a historically under-utilitized business district near downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, and we hire employees from the neighborhood of our plant.  Therefore, the Small Business Administration has certified us as a HUBZone company, which qualifies Bend Tooling to receive Section 8(a) set-aside contracts from the government and large companies.

As a Section 8(a) vendor, Bend Tooling has two decade track record of innovation and performance in the design and manufacture of rotary-draw tube-bending tools.  Some of our firsts include:  The single-piece poppet-style links in 1986, the inserted mandrel assembly in 1986, the inserted wiper die in 1987, the interlocked wiper die in 1994, the tapered-leaf bend die set (for square and rectangular tubing) in 1997, and the shock-resistant die set in 2003.  We also pioneered in conjunction with Proto-CAM Inc. the Datafacturing® factory automation we use to manufacture our rotary-draw tube-bending products with high precision and productivity -- which is how we quickly deliver a high-quality product to our customers at the lowest prices in the industry.
